Fried Chicken (Kara-age)

Ingredients (for 4 persons)
8 boneless chicken thighs
4 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp sake
2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/2 cup cornflour

 

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces.
  2. Mix the grated ginger, soy sauce and sake.
  3. Marinate the chicken in the mixture for 30 minutes.
  4. Slowly heat the oil to 330-340 degrees F.
  5. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and coat generously with cornflour.
  6. Deep fry the chicken pieces for about 5 minutes, until crisp and golden.
