Fresh Tofu Appetizer (Hiyayakko)

Ingredients (for 4 persons)
1 block tofu
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 spring onions
1 tbsp greated fresh ginger
1/4 cup bonito flakes
4 shiso leaves

 

  1. Cut the tofu into 4 equal pieces, and place them in individual serving dishes.
  2. Finely chop the spring onions.  Cut the shiso leaves into thin strips.
  3. Place the shiso leaves, spring onions, bonito flakes and grated ginger on top of the tofu.
  4. Serve immediately with the soy sauce.
