Ingredients (for 4 persons)
5 potatoes
1 large onion
1/3 lb ground beef
1 egg
salt and pepper
flour
fresh white breadcrumbs
- Peel and boil the potatoes until soften, then mash them.
- Saute minced onion, and ground beef in order in a frying pan, and add the salt and pepper.
- Mix mashed potato, onion and beef in a bowl, then season with the salt and pepper.
- With floured hands, shape the mixture into 8 oval, flat cakes.
- Dip the croquettes in the beaten egg and coat them in the breadcrumbs.
- Heat the oil slowly to 350 degrees F, and fry the croquettes until crisp and golden.
