Miso Soup (Miso-shiru)

Ingredients (for 4 persons)
1/4 oz (7g) dried wakame seaweed
1/2 block (6oz) tofu
3 1/2 cups soup stock 【See how to make soup stock】
3-4 tbsp miso paste

 

  1. Cut the tofu into 1/2 inch cubes.
  2. Bring the stock to a boil and reduce the heat.
  3. Place the miso in a bowl and dissolve it into some soup.
  4. Pour the mixture back into the pan.
  5. Add the wakame seaweed and tofu.
  6. Increase the heat and bring the soup to almost a boil, then turn off the heat.
