Roast Beef with Japanese Sauce

Cooking time: 1hr 30mins

Ingredients (for 4-6people)
400-500g Beef (block)
1 Block of Garlic
1/4 Onion
1/4 Carrot
1tbsp Vegetable oil

<Sauce>
4tbsp Soy sauce
2tbsp Sake
2tbsp Mirin
1tsp Sugar

 

  1. Slice carrot, onion and garlic and put them in a vat with beef.
  2. Pour the Sauce in the vat and marinate the beef for approx. 30mins.
  3. Take off the marinated beef from the vat.
  4. Heat a pan and fry the beef in a low heat until perfectly browned.
    (around 5mins on each surface)
  5. Put a lid on the pan and steam for 10-15mins.
  6. Take off the beef and wrap it in foil.
  7. Put the sauce in the pan which used to cook beef and boil them down and strain.
  8. Slice the beef in 3mm pieces and pour the starined sauce.
