Deep fried Vegetables and Prawns (Kakiage)

Ingredients (for 5people)
100g All Purpose flour
1 Egg
1cup Cold Water
500g Prawn
1 Small Carrot
1 Small Sweet Potato
1/2 Burdock root
2cups  Vegetable oil
Tempura sauce


 

  1. To prepare the batter, mix the egg and cold water first,
    then add the flour.
  2. Cut the sweet potato, carrot and burdock root into strips.
  3. Soak the sweet potato and burdock root in the water
    for couple of minutes and drain them.
  4. Put some vegetable oil in a pan and heat it to 170℃.
  5. Put the vegetables and the prawns in the batter and mix.
  6. Use a ladle to scoop them little by little and deep fry them.
  7. Turn up side down to deep fry them equally
    until the colour changes to golden yellow.
  8. Dip in the Tempura sauce.
