Sugamo
Koganji, famous for "togenuki" guardian deity statues, and is a bustling area known as "Harajuku for grandmas".
As the start of shopping streets with many small shops, Sugamo has the feel of the old, nostalgic Japan.
There are also various events at the temple, and young people can also enjoy the festival atmosphere.
Access: JR Yamanote Line, Toei Subway Mita Line

Ikebukuro
This is a sub-center of Tokyo, with Ikebukuro as its nucleus. It has department and specialty stores, as well as restaurants, and receives a million visitors every day.
The entertainment district extends from the East Exit, and boasting a scale on par with Kabukicho or Shibuya, and because there are theaters and universities on the west side, it has a cultural feel.
Additionally, the area prospers as a center of performance, with many theaters and drama schools nearby.

Sunshine City
Centered on the skyscraper Sunshine 60, this is an integrated urban facility composed of buildings, specialty shops, and other facilities.
It is divided into 5 different areas, with a symbol color designated for each area.
This area has not only businesses, but also has leisure facilities such as an aquarium and a planetarium, and has 30,000,000 people come through it annually.

Toshima City Central Library
The largest library in Toshima City. Has 240 reading seats, and 16 seats for people to bring their own computers.
It is also replete with welfare services, such as a separate Braille library.
Access: Right next to "Higashi Ikebukuro Station" on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, 8 minutes from JR "Ikebukuro Station"

Nishi Ikebukuro Park
This is Toshima City's largest park, and it lies near Rikkyo University. There are fountains in the center of the park, and they are lit up at night.
A stone plaza surrounds the fountains, and the park as a whole is designed in a western style, with Zelkova trees leading to a wide rose garden.
There is an exercise area in the south portion, and is a mecca for street soccer come nightfall.

Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space
This arts culture facility extends four floors underground and ten floors above. It has an array of facilities, from a large orchestra hall to galleries, to meeting rooms.
It is also famous for having a world-class size pipe organ.
