<p><strong>Tokyo Dome<br /></strong>This was Japan's first domed baseball stadium, and is the home of the Yomiuri Giants.<br />In addition to baseball, many other sports, concerts, and other events are held in the Dome.<br />It is also famous for being used as a way to explain size, with the commonly head phrase "As big as __ Tokyo Domes".<br />Access: Right next to "Suidobashi Station" on JR Sobu, Toei Subway Mita lines</p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Dome City<br /></strong>With the above Tokyo Dome as its landmark, this integrated commercial facility includes an amusement park, spa, hotel, and more.<br />It also has a baseball museum and specialty shops, as well as restaurants, and is busy with visitors on weekends.<br />The roller coaster located in Spa LaQue, called "Sun Dolphin", is the only roller coaster in Tokyo that goes in and out of building walls, <br />and even through the center of a Ferris wheel in its unique design.<br />Access: Right next to "Suidobashi Station" on JR Sobu, Toei Subway Mita lines</p>
<p><strong>Yayoi Museum of Art/Yumeji Takehisa Museum of Art<br /></strong>Takehisa Yumeji was a Taisho Era portrait artist, and his popular pictures graced the covers of many books and advertisements.<br />the Takehisa Yumeji Museum has the only viewable Yumeji collection in Tokyo, and in a building with old-time charm, visitors can immerse themselves in Taisho romance.<br />The Yayoi Museum exhibits numerous book illustrator works from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras.<br />&nbsp;Access: 8 minute walk from "Nezu Station" on Subway Chiyoda Line; 8 minute walk from "Todaimae Station" on Subway Namboku Line</p>
<p><strong>Yushima Tenmangu Shrine<br /></strong>This shrine is dedicated to Sugawara Michizanu, who is revered as a god of scholarship, and many students come here to pray for good test results.<br />Also, the shrine precincts are famous for their white plums, which were the setting for a novel.<br />Access: 3 minute walk from "Yushima Station" on Tokyo Metro; 8 minute walk from "Okachimachi Station" on JR Line</p>
<p><strong>Koishikawa Korakuen<br /></strong>This is a circuit garden of the Tokugawa clan. Its spacious grounds, centered on a pond, are modeled after the lakes, mountains, rivers, and field of different places.<br />Its Confucian composition is very strong, and each place is named after a famous Chinese location.<br />It is one of only 9 "double designated cultural assets" in Japan.<br />Access: 2 minute walk from "Iidabashi Station" on Subway Oedo Line<br /></p>]]></description>

<p><strong>Lalaport Toyosu<br /></strong>This shopping center opened in 2006. It has numerous specialty stores and restaurants.<br />It also contains a career experience facility called Kidzania Tokyo, wherein children 2-12 years of age can try out different jobs.<br />There are also other facilities, including a cinema, esthe, dog run, and other ways to fulfill one's desires.<br />Access: Right next to "Yurikamome Toyosu Station" on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line</p>
<p><strong>Fukugawa Shinmeigu Shrine<br /></strong>This is the historical shrine from which originates the name of the place called Fukugawa, and which is dedicated to the Goddess Amaterasu and Ise Jingu.<br />A festival is held every August, wherein a parade of lacquered portable mikoshi shrines are heroically carried around the area.<br />Access: 5 minute walk from "Morishita Station" on Toei Subway Shinjuku, Oedo lines</p>
<p><strong>Oedo Onsen Monogatari<br /></strong>This is a natural hot spring dilled from 1,400 meters below the earth's surface. It has various kinds of indoor baths, and outdoor ones as well.<br />Visitors can enjoy foot baths while gazing at the spacious Japanese garden, among other activities in this variety-rich hot spring. There are 16 restaurants, esthe, a nursery, lodging, and dog hot springs.<br />Access is also convenient, as free shuttle buses run from key locations throughout Tokyo.<br />Access: 2 minute walk from "Telecom Center Station" on Shin Kotsu Yurikamome Line</p>
<p><strong>Palette Town<br /></strong>This place has many facilities, including a Ferris wheel of world-class size, an entertainment shopping mall, "VenusFort", one of the largest live music houses in Japan, "ZeppTokyo", <br />"Mega Web", a car-themed experience amusement park, and others. With limited-time events held often, <br />this is the representative large-scale leisure facility of Odaiba.<br />Access: Direct connection from "Aomi Station" on Yurikamome Line, 3 minute walk from "Tokyo Teleport Station" on Rinkai Line</p>

<p><strong>Arakawa City Arakawa Yuen<br /></strong>This old-time amusement park opened in 1922. Being a public park, its admission and facility use fees are very inexpensive, and it can be easily enjoyed.<br />The park is geared toward children and there are no thrill rides, but its other facilities are very good, and include a pony ride area, fishing area, and a ride area that has a small locomotive train running through it.<br />Access: 3 minute walk from "Arakawa Yuenchimae Station" on Toden Arakawa Line</p>
<p><strong>Arakawa Furusato Culture Hall<br /></strong>The hall opened in 1998 as a place to learn while enjoying Arakawa's history and culture.<br />A building with 4 floors above and 1 basement floor, it also includes the Minami Senju Library. Permanent exhibits include ruins and earthenware found in Arakawa City, replica houses from middle ages, early modern times, and the Showa Era, and others. <br />Also, the workers in the folk study room are available to help visitors study about the local culture.<br />Access: 8 minute walk from "Minami Senju Station" on JR, Subway Hibiya lines</p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Shioiri Park<br /></strong>Adjacent to the Sumida River, this park allows visitors interact with water. A large wave barrier has been erected along a 1km section of the Sumida River, along which the park lies, and there is a comfortable space with an observation tower along the water.<br />The facility has many features, including barbecue and multipurpose areas, an outdoor theater, and more.<br />Access: 12 minute walk from "Minami Senju Station" on JR Joban, Tokyo Metro Hibiya, and Tsukuba Express Lines.</p>
<p><strong>Nippori Textiles Town<br /></strong>Many stores selling fabric are located in the 1km along and around the Nippori Chuo-dori.<br />Visitors can enjoy buying high-quality fabric at very low prices, and it is also fun to try and dig up other bargains as well.<br />Not only can fabric and sewing products be purchased, other clothing is also very inexpensive, and the area is bustling with shoppers on the weekends.<br />Access: 2 minute walk from "Nippori Station" on JR Yamanote Line</p>
<p><strong>Toden Arakawa Line<br /></strong>This is the only street train operated by the Tokyo Prefectural Transportation Bureau, and it runs a short line from Minowabashi to Waseda.<br />The one-car train stops at about 30 stops, and riders can feel the old-town atmosphere from the train windows.<br />Access: Begins at "Minowabashi Station" on Tokyo Subway Hibiya Line, and runs to the terminal "Waseda" stop.<br /></p>]]></description>

<p><strong>Sugamo<br /></strong>Koganji, famous for "togenuki" guardian deity statues, and is a bustling area known as "Harajuku for grandmas".<br />As the start of shopping streets with many small shops, Sugamo has the feel of the old, nostalgic Japan.<br />There are also various events at the temple, and young people can also enjoy the festival atmosphere.<br />Access: JR Yamanote Line, Toei Subway Mita Line</p>
<p><strong>Ikebukuro<br /></strong>This is a sub-center of Tokyo, with Ikebukuro as its nucleus. It has department and specialty stores, as well as restaurants, and receives a million visitors every day.<br />The entertainment district extends from the East Exit, and boasting a scale on par with Kabukicho or Shibuya, and because there are theaters and universities on the west side, it has a cultural feel.<br />Additionally, the area prospers as a center of performance, with many theaters and drama schools nearby.<br />Access: "Ikebukuro Station" on JR Yamanote, Saikyo, Shonan Shinjuku lines; Seibu Ikebukuro Line, Tobu Tojo Main Line, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi, Yurakucho lines </p>
<p><strong>Sunshine City<br /></strong>Centered on the skyscraper Sunshine 60, this is an integrated urban facility composed of buildings, specialty shops, and other facilities.<br />It is divided into 5 different areas, with a symbol color designated for each area.<br />This area has not only businesses, but also has leisure facilities such as an aquarium and a planetarium, and has 30,000,000 people come through it annually.<br />Access: 3 minute walk from "Higashi Ikebukuro Station" on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, 8 minute walk from "Ikebukuro Station" on JR, Tokyo Metro, Seibu Ikebukuro Line, and Tobu Tojo Line</p>
<p><strong>Toshima City Central Library<br /></strong>The largest library in Toshima City. Has 240 reading seats, and 16 seats for people to bring their own computers.<br />It is also replete with welfare services, such as a separate Braille library.<br />Access: Right next to "Higashi Ikebukuro Station" on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, 8 minutes from JR "Ikebukuro Station"</p>
<p><strong>Nishi Ikebukuro Park<br /></strong>This is Toshima City's largest park, and it lies near Rikkyo University. There are fountains in the center of the park, and they are lit up at night.<br />A stone plaza surrounds the fountains, and the park as a whole is designed in a western style, with Zelkova trees leading to a wide rose garden.<br />There is an exercise area in the south portion, and is a mecca for street soccer come nightfall.<br />Access: 5 minute walk from "Ikebukuro Station" on Seibu Ikebukuro Line</p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space<br /></strong>This arts culture facility extends four floors underground and ten floors above. It has an array of facilities, from a large orchestra hall to galleries, to meeting rooms.<br />It is also famous for having a world-class size pipe organ.<br />Access: 3 minute walk from "Ikebukuro Station" on JR, Subway Yurakucho, Marunouchi, Tobu Tojo, and Seibu Ikebukuro lines</p>

<p><strong>Shinagawa<br /></strong>One of the main terminal stations in Tokyo, this station has departures and arrivals by Shinkansen trains to and from all over Japan.<br />Also, as one of the largest business districts, Shinagawa has numerous company headquarters buildings.<br />Perhaps for this reason, the station has many city hotels and restaurants around it, and is a center of entertainment as well.<br />Access: JR Tokaido, Yokosuka, Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku, Tokaido Shinkansen lines; Keihin Electric Express Railway Main Line</p>
<p><strong>Shinagawa Aquarium<br /></strong>This facility includes a 22m tunnel pool from which visitors can gaze up at swimming fish, giving a wide view of the world of the sea.<br />There are 25 pools in all, which contain life from Tokyo Bay as well as deep sea fish, and all are displayed with different themes.<br />Penguins, sea lions, and seals are also kept at the aquarium. There is a dolphin show as well, where visitors can enjoy a dynamic performance.<br />Access: 8 minute walk from "Omori Kaigan Station" on Keihin Express Line; 15 minute walk from North Exit of "Omori Station" on Keihin-Tohoku Line</p>
<p><strong>Hara Museum of Contemporary Art<br /></strong>This private museum features a collection and exhibits of contemporary art. It holds exhibitions which introduce the latest movements in contemporary art.<br />Its main collection works include Miyajima Tetsuo's "Toki no Rensa", Nara Michi's "My Drawing Room", and many others.<br />Access: 15 minute walk from the Takanawa Exit of JR "Shinagawa Station"</p>
<p><strong>Oi Futo Chuo Kaihin Park<br /></strong>This seaside park is located on the Oi pier, and is divided east-west by a road.<br />This park features fun that can only be had at a seaside park, such as clam-digging and fishing. Also, part of the tidepools are prohibited for entry,<br />and there visitors can observe Spotbill ducks and seagulls. The park also hosts one of the best sports facilities parks in Tokyo.<br />Access: 8 minute walk from "Oi Keibajomae Station" on Tokyo Monorail</p>

<p><strong>Nakano City Central Library<br /></strong>This library boasts a collection of approx. 480,000 books, and is rich in media rooms, etc.<br />The library is not a separate building, but occupies the basement and 1st floor of a larger structure.<br />Access: 7 minute walk from "Nakano Station" on JR Chuo, Sobu, Subway Tozai Lines</p>
<p><strong>Nakano Broadway <br /></strong>From the 1st to the 4th floors, this department store has over 300 stores, with the 4th floor up used as residential housing.<br />Besides restaurants and clothing stores, there are many various other establishments, such as clinics and law firms. <br />Competition is fierce, and stores change quite frequently.<br />Access: North Exit of JR "Nakano Station", walk straight through the Sun Mall shopping street to arrive.</p>
<p><strong>Araiyakushi<br /></strong>This temple was built in 1586 due to a Yakushi Nyorai statue discovered in the hole of a plum tree, which should have been destroyed in a battle.<br />It is widely believed to be a "guardian of the eyes" and "guardian of child-rearing".<br />Because the main temple is a hidden Buddha, it is only shown in the year of the tiger.<br />Access: 5 minute walk from "Araiyakushimae Station" on Seibu Shinjuku Line; 5 minute bus ride from North Exit of "Nakano Station" on JR Chuo Line</p>
<p><strong>Nakano Sunplaza<br /></strong>This integrated facility includes lodging, wedding chapel, music, and other items, and the 1st through 4th floors are a concert hall.<br />It is a famous Nakano landmark, wherein many various events are held.<br />Access: 1 minute walk from North Exit of "Nakano Station" on JR Chuo, Sobu, and Tokyo Metro Tozai Lines.</p>
<p><strong>Tetsugakudo Park<br /></strong>Philosopher Inoue Enryo, who also founded Toyo University, created this park, and after his death, it was donated to Nakano City. <br />As its name (tetsugaku means philosophy) indicates, it is themed on philosophy. Snapshots of thinking can be found throughout, and it is a park with a unique atmosphere. <p><strong>Hikarigaoka Park<br /></strong>This park features baseball fields, track, archery range, and large grass areas on six hectares.<br />The park is a great place to enjoy outdoor holiday fun with friends and family, since there are also barbecue and camping facilities.<br />Also, there is a 2.4 hectare bird sanctuary, where visitors can look at various kinds of animals.<br />Access: 8 minute walk from "Hikarigaoka Station" on Subway Oedo Line</p>
<p><strong>Itabashi Art Museum<br /></strong>This was the first city-established museum in the 23 wards of Tokyo, and opened in 1979.<br />Early modern works include Edo Period antiques, and early/modern western pieces include avant-garde pieces from the Taisho to Showa periods.<br />Special exhibitions include the Edo Yukari art exhibits, as well as exhibitions of originals of foreign picture books. There are also various events held in conjunction with the exhibits.<br />Access: 1 minute walk from North Exit of "Narimasu Station" on Tobu Tojo Line, 3 minute walk from Exit 5 of "Narimasu Station" on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line </p>
<p><strong>Itabashi Science &amp; Education Hall<br /></strong>Science museum with planetarium. Star-related events are held regularly.<br />With a solar car and human-powered airplane exhibit room, earthquake experience machine, body illusion experience room, and other fun, visitors can learn while playing.<br />Access: 5 minute walk from the North Exit of "Kami Itabashi Station" on Tobu Tojo Line</p>
<p><strong>Japanese Calligraphy Museum<br /></strong>The first calligraphy-specialized museum in Japan. With a collection of approx. 5,000 works by calligraphers, there are also many planned exhibits which cannot be found elsewhere. <br />With the purpose of promoting calligraphy development, such public contests as the Japan Calligraphy Museum Exhibition are held.<br />Admission is 1000 yen for adults. 700 yen for high school or university students, and 500 yen for elementary or junior high school students.<br />Access: 1 minute walk from North Exit of "Tokiwadai Station" on Tobu Tojo Line</p>
<p><strong>Shimura Ichirizuka Mound<br /></strong>This is one of the mounds constructed according to the orders to build a mound every 4km along major roads by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu in the Edo Period.<br />Not only were these landmarks for travelers during that time, by people could also rest in the shadows of the hackberry trees planted in the mounds.<br />There are only two places where the entire shape of the mound remains in Tokyo, including this one, and it is designated as a national historic site.<br />Access: 1 minute walk from "Shimura Sakaue Station" on Toei Mita Line</p>
<p><strong>Hojiji Temple Shogetsuin<br /></strong>This is the most distinguished temple in the City.<br />Chiba Yoritane, whose hometown temple was Hojiji, donated land to the temple, and caused the temple name to be changed.<br />Also, it is also famous for Takashima Shuhan, who is known as the father of the Army, having made the temple his headquarters and performed live-fire exercises there.<br />Access: 20 minute walk from "Shimoakatsuka" or "Narimasu" stations on Tobu Tojo Line<br /></p>]]></description>

<p><strong>Kasai Rinkai Koen<br /></strong>This Tokyo prefectural park faces Tokyo Bay, and its large Ferris wheel is a landmark. Facilities in the park include the Kasai Rinkai Aquarium<br />and aviary. There are also large grass areas and an artificial beach, making the park a great place to enjoy the bay area.<br />There are also lodgings and rest houses for a relaxing time.<br />Access: 5 minute walk from "Kasai Rinkai Koen Station" on JR Keiyo Line</p>
<p><strong>Edogawa Kyoteijo<br /></strong>The only boat racing facility in Japan that uses the surface of a river.<br />Depending on the time of event, there are "happy summer races" with the cutoff for the first race at noon, or the happy winter races, with cutoff for the first race at 10:00.<br />Being close to the ocean, its water level is easily affected, so only the top racers battle here.<br />Access: Free bus from "Hirai Station" on JR Sobu Line, "Funabori Station" on Toei Shinjuku Line, "Nishi Kasai Station" on Subway Tozai Line</p>
<p><strong>Tokyo Mizube Line<br /></strong>This is a water bus from which guests can view the Sumida River and Tokyo Rinkai areas. <p><strong>Kasai Riverside Mall<br /></strong>This shopping mall is large enough to spend an entire day visiting.<br />Centered on Ito Yokado, there are about 60 specialty shops selling furniture, books, and many other items.<br />There are many ways to have fun, with facilities such as Sega Amusement and others.<br />Access: 10 minutes by free shuttle from "Kasai Station" on Tozai Line</p>
<p><strong>Family Yuen Land Koiwa<br /></strong>Large scale bath house with 10 kinds of baths. Trains arrive from JR Joban, Chiyoda, Hibiya, Tsukuba Express lines.<br />The West Exit has been redeveloped, with Marui and other department stores completes. <br />However, it maintains an old-town atmosphere with many narrow, maze-like streets and shopping districts to explore.</p>
<p><strong>Sekido Museum of Art<br /></strong>This is the first private art museum in the City.<br />Its collection mainly includes ceramics from Japan, China, Southeast Asia, Spain, and elsewhere. Earthenware from the Jomon and Paleolithic periods<br />is also exhibited. It is also scheduled to exhibit works by Katsushika Hokusai in the future.<br />The museum is located inside the Senju Metal Industry Co. headquarters, and admission is 500 yen.<br />Access: 3 minute walk from "Senju Ohashi Station" on Keisei Line</p>
<p><strong>Adachi City Folk Museum<br /></strong>Exhibits materials related to the community.<br />Divides the history of Adachi City into four corners, with exhibits from its origins to other eras,<br />and has rich permanent exhibits. <p><strong>Toneri Park<br /></strong>From before World War Two, this place was kept as an aerial defense location, and is now a general Tokyo prefectural park.<br />It is split in two by a main thoroughfare, with tennis courts, a track, baseball fields, and other sports facilities on the west side.<br />It also has a campground, fountains and waterslides for water fun, making it perfect for kids.<br />There are also various animals living in the park property, including a water grass field with a boardwalk installed nearby.<br />Access: Take the Tokyo Bus from JR "Nippori Station", and it is right next to "Toneri Koen" bus stop<br /></p>]]></description>

<p><strong>Metropolitan Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Ground<br /></strong>This park was used as a secondary venue in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and has a sprawling size.<br />In the center of the facility are 12 sports facilities, including a gym, pool, cycling, jogging courses, and more.<br />Also, there is a 1200 sq. meter dog run which can be used 24 hours a day, and is bustling with walking dogs on holidays.<br />Access: 15 minute walk from "Komazawa Daigaku Station" on Tokyu Den-en Toshi Line</p>
<p><strong>Nakameguro<br /></strong>This station's front area is being redeveloped. There are many famous and popular stores along Yamate-dori, and the area bustles with people at night.<br />Because a quiet residential area lies very nearby, it is gaining popularity as a place to live as well.<br />Also, rows of Sakura trees have been planted along the Meguro River, and the number of cafes and sundries shops is increasing.</p>

Was created for historical and industrial PR.<br />It is not a path that was specially created, but it normally used by neighborhood residents.<br />There are 4 rest places called "Oasis", which are themed on the 5 human senses.<br />They have various designs, such as the "Ear Oasis", in which equipment allows one to hear the sounds of a forest.</p>
<p><strong>Suginami City Chuo Library<br /></strong>This facility serves as the central library for the City. <p><strong>Toshimaen<br /></strong>This amusement park dates to the Taisho Era, and includes a historic carousel over 100 years old.<br />The amusement park rides are not spectacular, but the park is well-loved by locals. <p><strong>Johoku　Central Park<br /></strong>The largest sports park in the Johoku area.
