Arakawa City Arakawa Yuen
This old-time amusement park opened in 1922. Being a public park, its admission and facility use fees are very inexpensive, and it can be easily enjoyed.
The park is geared toward children and there are no thrill rides, but its other facilities are very good, and include a pony ride area, fishing area, and a ride area that has a small locomotive train running through it.
Access: 3 minute walk from "Arakawa Yuenchimae Station" on Toden Arakawa Line

Arakawa Furusato Culture Hall
The hall opened in 1998 as a place to learn while enjoying Arakawa's history and culture.
A building with 4 floors above and 1 basement floor, it also includes the Minami Senju Library. Permanent exhibits include ruins and earthenware found in Arakawa City, replica houses from middle ages, early modern times, and the Showa Era, and others.
Also, the workers in the folk study room are available to help visitors study about the local culture.
Access: 8 minute walk from "Minami Senju Station" on JR, Subway Hibiya lines

Tokyo Shioiri Park
Adjacent to the Sumida River, this park allows visitors interact with water. A large wave barrier has been erected along a 1km section of the Sumida River, along which the park lies, and there is a comfortable space with an observation tower along the water.
The facility has many features, including barbecue and multipurpose areas, an outdoor theater, and more.
Access: 12 minute walk from "Minami Senju Station" on JR Joban, Tokyo Metro Hibiya, and Tsukuba Express Lines.

Nippori Textiles Town
Many stores selling fabric are located in the 1km along and around the Nippori Chuo-dori.
Visitors can enjoy buying high-quality fabric at very low prices, and it is also fun to try and dig up other bargains as well.
Not only can fabric and sewing products be purchased, other clothing is also very inexpensive, and the area is bustling with shoppers on the weekends.
Access: 2 minute walk from "Nippori Station" on JR Yamanote Line

Toden Arakawa Line
This is the only street train operated by the Tokyo Prefectural Transportation Bureau, and it runs a short line from Minowabashi to Waseda.
The one-car train stops at about 30 stops, and riders can feel the old-town atmosphere from the train windows.
Access: Begins at "Minowabashi Station" on Tokyo Subway Hibiya Line, and runs to the terminal "Waseda" stop.
