[Welcoming visitors]
| ■Stand up for the visitor, and welcome them with a smile. | "Irasshaimase." 「いらっしゃいませ。」 "Hello." |
| ■Confirm company name, person’s name, item of business. | |
| -When the visitor has no appointment | "Donoyouna goyoukende irasshaimasuka?" 「どのようなご用件でいらっしゃいますか。」 "How may I help you?" |
| -When the visitor has an appointment | "Omachishite orimashita." 「お待ちしておりました。」 "We've been expecting you." |
[To pass the visitor to the person with whom they are meeting]
| ■Contact the person to be met with. | "○○samaga ××no kende omiedesu." 「○○様が××の件でお見えです。」 "Mr./Ms. ○○ has come to see you about ××." |
| ■If the person to be met is not there, explain why they are not there, and let the visitor know when they will return. | "Moushiwake gozaimasen. ○○wa tadaima gaishutsushite
orimasu." 「申し訳ございません。○○は只今外出しております。」 "I'm sorry but, he is out now." |
| "△jiniwa modorimasuga, ikaga itashimasuka?" 「△時には戻りますが、いかがいたしますか。」 "○○ will be back by △." |

| Show where you are headed with your hands. | "Kochirae douzo. Goannai itashimasu." 「こちらへどうぞ。ご案内いたします。」 "Please walk this way." |
| When you walk, walk a few steps ahead of the visitor. | |
| ■Guiding to a meeting room | |
| When you show the visitor to the office, say "Kochirade gozaimasu." | "Kochirade gozaimasu." 「こちらでございます」 "Here you are." |
| Encourage the visitor to sit at the head of the table. | "Douzo okake kudasaimase." 「どうぞお掛け下さいませ。」 "Please have a seat." |
| Once you have confirmed that the person is seated, bow and leave the room. | "Shitsurei itashimasu. Shoushou omachi kudasaimase." 「失礼いたします。少々お待ち下さいませ。」 "I'll excuse myself. Could you wait here for a moment?" |
